With Mass Effect: Andromeda, we'll be starting a new chapter for the franchise & with that will come new characters and squadmates. BioWare has had an incredible ability to create memorable characters across their franchises, especially Mass Effect, but we'll be working with a younger and less experienced cast in Andromeda.
Game Informer revealed the first two squadmates: Liam & Peebee. Creative Director Mac Walters described the cast as more of a "leap before you think" mentality, and expect some tension to brew amongst characters with everyone having different perspectives and goals throughout missions.

With the release of the December digital Game Informer issue, tons of Mass Effect: Andromeda information is arriving. Producer Fabrice Condominas confirmed that Mass Effect: Andromeda would feature crafting throughout the campaign as users are able to acquire blueprints. You'll be able to use these blueprints to build weapons & armor, which I wouldn't be surprised is an added incentive to explore planets to find more rare blueprints. Fabrice mentioned that the "narrative setting means that you have alien races with new tech" and he thinks that it's "compelling for players to craft new stuff".
In addition to the crafting system, Andromeda will thankfully be receiving a New Game+ mode. What's really interesting, is that you can even change your gender in the New Game+ mode, and that's an option that wasn't available in Mass Effect 3.
